There are some days when you want to call it a day at the start of the evening, you are not up for anything, not even talk to you dearest people, for no reason at all. No i didn't have a bad day, i didn't have a hectic day, i was down for a silly reason. The two of us went to a supermarket, and suddenly while on phone, he vanished, out of my sight, and i felt so lost. Well i dont have an explanation to it, since then i finally found him, but i was upset, didn't want to shop anymore, well iam one compulsive shopper when i enter a supermarket. All i wanted to do was go back home and eat and sleep. Well in such times, food does magic on me.
I went to my brothers place this evening, i was not interested to go there, solely because i was down for no reason. But we finally went there coz we already had plans for that. I was being a jerk there and suddenly my sister-in-law , my mannis, had plans of many a quick snack for us, yeah she is awesomeness when it comes to quick and great food ideas. Hailing from Guwahati and have spent good number of years in Delhi and Sydney, she has a beautiful take on food. Will talk about her skills, her microwave smartness and home decor skills some other day, but in short she is the most organized person i have ever met, and keep trying to learn this quick fixes. So one such quick idea of hers pepped me up completely, yeah food does that to me. She had prepared to make a quick fix salami canape and what a beautiful idea. It had had had to come here on the blog. Me being the vegetarian, loved the whole idea, and already have ideas to innovate over it.
So here goes the canape,
Quick and easy salami Canapé.
A Slice of any of your cold cut favorite salami,
you choice of flavored cheese / or just some cream cheese would also do
Some cucumber slices
jalapeño slices
black olive slices
lemon pepper dressing
oregano and
salt if required
Stack it up as you wish, and savor this quick snack, Garg gulped 3-4 in no time.
We could have also added some boiled egg slices here, forgot about it completely.
I feel a little fry in garlic butter and wrapped in a toothpick, with some parsley stuffed into it with some boiled egg slices, would look awesome.

This is my entry into the day 20 of the December Blogging Marathon, check out the activities of the other here

Just what I need for all the people suddenly popping in over the next few days. thanks.
ReplyDeleteWow!! That is one yummy looking thing. A lot of veggie options popping up in my head too :) Thanks for the idea!!
ReplyDeleteI'd try the same with salt crackers as the base, a dollop of cheese and then grilled in a jiffy to just firm it up. The layers could then be customised. Might just add some more dimension to it. Could even try a canape sandwich with crackers on either sides :P
