A Tribute to Amma - And her STUFFED CAPSICUMS in Makhani Gravy / Bharwan Shimla Mirch - Missin u Amma

I became all nostalgic reading all these wonderful posts by people remembering their lovely parents, grandparents and other special people, and they are so expressive.. I think once i think twice, should i should i not.. I am not that expressive with words... well Jigyasa and pratibha come up with this beautiful theme of Jihva for Love , paying tribute to Pedatha.. thanks a ton people... so what am not too good with words...and here iam, i get a chance to pay a tribute to the beautiful and ever sacrificing Amma.. my mother.. all mothers are special in their own way and are the quenns of their worlds in their own charm.. arent they... but i guess i could get much chance to express this to her.. all the while we were together.. i was a kiddo.. taking her for granted.. knowing the fact that this is one lady who is there for me come what may... i can show all my food tantrums to her... i can get angry with her... etc etc etc...

Lauki, Kaddu, Ghiya, bottle gourd... so many names to this veggy and not many are too fond of it because it doesnt have much taste to itself... but am a big big big fan of this poor veggie... be it simple lauki tamatar or lauki chana dal.. but i wanted to try out lauki ki kofte as i had not prepared that even once for hubby dear after marriage.. so here we go yummliciuos lauki ke kofte.. I adapted one step from Mansi of Fun n Food where her addition of almonds attracted me a lot. Thanks Mansi it really did give a very rich taste to it.

BEAT the HEAT with Kiwi Mango and Mint Cooler - Both Martini and Cooler Versions.

Hello people.. am back with another mixology experiment which was highly appreciated by Garg. Though he was never too fond of Vodka, my experiments with martinis have made him ever ready for a Vodka martini. As per Wiki martinis essentially are Gin cocktails, i wouold surely come up with some authentic gin martini soon, but unavailibility of Gin and Vodka being available gave rise to this zingy cocktail - according to garg - "kya cheez hai yaar, aankhein khol di" :)
seriously the heat is taking its toll in bangalore and we madly wanted something to beat the heat. For the teetotallers and for me :) i had the Cooler version of this martini with 7up replacing the vodka and for sure it did the work for me.

Nutri nuggets, matar and methi in yoghurt gravy

First of all wishing all the readers of Chatkhor a happy varshaparupu, vishu, baisakhi, shubho nobovarsho .. wish you all a very happy new year.
Nutri nuggets, more commonly known as nutrella or soya ki wadiyaan as the bestest possible substitute for chicken to the veggies, be it the proteins or the look or the taste. Well so obviously its my favourite. But I had gotten bored with the regular aloo nutrella or nutrella in pulao, heres a very refreshing variant for nutri nuggets which was a pleasant hit at my place and hope it does so with you guys too. The yummy nutri nuggets, the tangyness of kasoori methi and the richness of cream and yoghurt. What else can we ask from this simple recipe.

Bread Vayaipayam Duet Halwa \ Bread Banana Duet Halwa

First of all wishing all of you a very Happy Ugadi... dont know much whats done on this day but a sewwt is good on any festival..

Some ripe bananas.. a 3 4 day old packet of bread.. and i just dont want to consume them in their original forms.. coz the bananas have become all black and sticky and the half packet of bread has beome hard as it was in the fridge for 3 4 days.. this made me running to prepare this dish - Bread banana halwa, as garg is a bread halwa fan and a banana fanatic at the same time. I was sceptical about trying this out but it turned out really really well, it was heavy but it was so tempting that none of us could resist it. Try this and believe me its going to be a hit.

KIWI MARTINI - B'day Drink for hubby dear

Yesterday was Garg's b'day so it was a hectic but lovely day. Neither of the two of us are experts in mixed drinks but have started exploring this arena a lot off late, and he has very proudly appointed me as his bartender cum mixologist.. so I'd definitely treat him with one of my latest findings. With Kiwis lying alone in my fridge, I'd definitely not disappoint them too (first I'd thought of a sangria using all the fruits I'd stalked that morning). So I'd decided on the fruit I am partial to .. the Kiwi fruit. Here goes the Kiwi Martini, very easy but very tempting.
